On a bladelock the best race IS clearly Gythianki. You need medium Armor mandatory. You will not have a Shield. You will use Big polearm or Greataxes/Greatswords. Eldritch blast will be only when you cant jump on your foe. You are a blaster and controller in medium Armor. You can concentrate on hunger of hadar, hex will not be very efficient.
