Your Allison came with Dex-IV in it from GM, Dex-IV is a synthetic and a very good fluid. Doing a double drain is a waste of money personally. Change it to your fluid of choice and change it again 25k later. If you're going to deviate from Dex-IV pick and TES 668 fluid and sleep happy. I picked up my 2020 Denali 2500 hd duramax this week and noticed a loud knocking at idle which increases in volume as the engine warms up. Went back in to the dealer before I even left the lot and saw the service advisor and the diesel tech who both said it was normal.

Not a single issue until 4/04/2021. 7812 miles, had been driven 150 that day, 20 miles from home, check engine light, derate & shut-down in seconds. Lotsa white smoke. Dealer replaced fuel pump, still no start, no fuel pressure, lift pump working perfectly. Maybe $77,000 isn't enough to get one to 10,000 miles.

I have a 2017 L5P 2500 that won't start (I know) because the lift pump isnt turning on. I"m not sure what relay 1 or 2 is for the lift pump but all fuses seem to be fine and I have bench tested relay 1 and it seems to be fine. I'm gonna add also that the fuel gauge isn't working either. The L5P has almost a second faster 0-60 time than the same LML on paper. As I said, I had a 13 LML stock, and now have a 18 L5P, both were bought brand new, and the L5P is much quicker!! Not even close! The L5p was a very small exhaust side configuration, small up pipes, small exhaust turbo vanes, etc. So I am guessing the ECM was seeing some very high EGT’s and cut power to keep from melting pistons. Pulled over and checked levels, all fine. Good thing I was close to home and pressure stayed 28 or more the whole way. I just bought a 2024 GMC 2500HD AT4 w/ Duramax. When leaving a stop light there is a slight shutter on acceleration. Is This normal? Also when coming to a stop slowing to a slow roll (about 5-10 mph) I step on the accelerator and the truck takes a solid 5-10 seconds to start responding.

I would never consider a LML after owning a L5P. $1500 to delete a Cummins or LML. $7,000 to delete an L5P. $3,000 to convert from a CP4 to CP3 on the LML. $700+ to level the GMC/Chevy compared to $100 to level the Ram. Personally, I would never consider long-term ownership of a modern diesel with emissions intact.

Earlier gen hose required 5/8" hose it seems while the L5P uses 7/8" id. I chose not to use the stock short section as the hose I used is very good quality and retains its form.

Unsure if programming is needed for that. 2019 3500HD, Cclb, Drw, Deleted and Tuned, Wehrli turbo horn, intake, boost tubes, Banks idash, S&B map spacer, VSE fuel filtration, 5 inch exhaust.
