Basically, you get the belt properly seated on the AC clutch pulley, start it over the crank pulley and turn the crank clockwise by hand to stretch/force the belt into position. Apparently the 'tool' helps guide the belt into the pulley so it is correctly located fully into all the grooves on the pulley.

Nov 27, 2019 · It's a 2013 Ford Escape 2.0 turbo. The car dies when I shift the transmission into gear. However, if the car is cold (not warmed up) then it will shift into gear without dying. Once I recognized this I would start the car, put it into gear and allow the car to warm up. But after warmup, still no luck.
