Isx blowing coolant out overflow but not overheating.

I cannot find any leaks, but the coolant smell is strong. When I first noticed it there was coolant around my fan.Started my shift end of NM and drove all day with no issues, coolant light never came on. The following day, same , no light, but i kept checking coolant and …The bottom radiator hose feel cold. When the heater stops working it seams to over heat. No evidence of oil in the coolant, it's not blowing smoke, not running rough, starting fine, not going to limp mode. Totally out of ideas!!! I have a 2002 Ford Explorer and I am still trying to figure out why the coolant will overflow in the radiator reserve tank. I put in a new thermostat and a new cap to the overflow tank. When the tank is cold, sat over night, I put in new anti-freeze to the cold coolant line. Then I start up the explorer and let it run for a while.
