Xmen, X2 United, X3 Last … It’s what got me into X-men and is the reason I love it so much. In the comics (I'm thinking really early 90s,) during the Crunch ...The same is true with Wandavision or Loki. They are odd choices but managed to work. I believed they chose the X-Men 97 theme because its spirit is to be the "pop"/simple/distilled version of the comics. Like the MCU, X-Men 97 was able to make mutants very digestable for mainstream audiences and fans.

There are more good films in the franchise than bad. Logan, DOFP, First Class and X2 are some of the best in the Genre. The Deadpool movies were great. X1 and The wolverine are pretty good. Apocalypse and The Last Stand are bad/mediocre but have some great scenes in them. Honestly, X-men origins is the only truly terrible one.
