Apart from its utility, it has the highest durability of any weapon in the game, so much so that by L5/6, you should be getting a new crowbar off of a zed drop faster than you can use up a crowbar, assuming that you're fighting smart (not tired, not winded, etc).

Short blunts are abundant and gives you a very strong start to the game if you pick construction worker. However they lack the damage or the range of axes and long blunts. Spears are a gimmick, but they work well with low strength - fitness characters due to one hit kill. Never bothered with knives after build 41 landed.

Axes have decent durability, good repair ability/good occupation and a hand axe+axeman is the best 1 handed backup weapon. +2 to axes and they’re easy as hell to level from day 1. Overall, long blunt and axe will be (in my opinion) your general best bet. As u/Fortune_Silver mentioned, Long blades are strong but rare, and spears have a severe lack of durability for a long time. Short weapon types are generally too weak to serve as anything except a backup weapon, or unless you don't want to damage your strong weapons ... Overall though the build looks fine and don't worry about what the meta is because people argue all the time on what's best.
