On layton lake i just find the tracks hard to follow. Instead i go up to a lake or the river where you can look with your binoculars for animals and most of the time get 2-3 animals per lake. Animals are most seen at early morning (5:00-6:00) or at Evening. Also beware of bullet drop, makes it hard to shot long distances for example across a lake.
