Is the moonveil katana still good.

I was wondering if a moonveil mage build is still good. Definitely yes, still really strong. But honestly anything in this game can be strong if you know how to build it properly. Im using that and Dark Moon Greatsword. Moonveil is nice for little guys and getting some sharp damage in.Haven’t found any good looking armor yet so still rocking the starter samurai which looks great, imo, so gotta use a katana. I want to maybe try a dual katana build because I like fast fighting and that seems even faster than single katana. If you're DEX/INT it's basically broken though. High damage, high bleed, …Moonveil scales primaries with int and decently with dex. But it's still roughly 70/30 magic/physical. You don't have to build around Moonveil at all which is why it's so particularly powerful for sorcery builds. Don't even have to push endurance because moonveil isn't heavy. Moonveil and wing of astel both fit perfectly into a sorcery build.

It's a better version of the frayed blade in ds3 but to say the moonviel katana is better than the pkcs is a bit silly. Moonveil remains one of the better weapons in the game too. It's basically better than using actual spells 4 times out of 5. People saying it's been "nerfed to hell" are exaggerating. You will literally use its ash more than your will spells. Moonveil doesn't so much one-shot as insta-stagger a lot of enemies with the weapon art (the R2 version). A lot of tough enemies get staggered by one L2+R2 and then killed by the critical hit you can follow up with, and a good number of bosses get staggered in like two or three hits from it, too.

Strictly PvE (but applicable to PvP) and pre-patch, it was the weapon art. Deals massive (ultra greatsword level) damage but comes out much faster, was spammable, poise broke very easily, has poise itself. Pair it with the ring that heals HP and fp on critical hits, and you just spam weapon art on bosses, poise break, crit, repeat.

The Moonveil is still much better than a lot weapons mentioned on pure INT builds. It has bleed build up and is available pretty early on and has reasonably low requirements. The vertical AoW still does good poise damage if you hit .
