Updating AC System. Hello all, I recently purchased a 2004 Scion xB and the AC is not operable. After a ton of digging around online and on these forums I figured I'd post about some of the issues I've encountered. Anyways I have a 2004 xB with 176k miles on it. Bought it pre-owned at about 172k miles. About two months after I bought it I started having problems with the a/c, with it not turning on or blowing cold, despite having new freon. Jun 22, 2008 · The numbers identify the model year (10th character) and the assembly plant for the vehicle (11th character). A number or letter may represent the model year. For example: 1998 (W), 2000 (Y), 2007 (7) or 2008 ( 8 ). The 12th to 17th characters are the actual serial number of the vehicle—these last 6 digits make the vehicle unique (think of DNA). I doubt there is a difference 2010 and up. However, I also see it is for sale at fastscions.com for 2008-2014 - Hotchkis Sway Bars: Scion xB 2008 - 2014 (xB2) It's $320. If you have, then it's a good idea to disconnect the battery negative, wait a minute or so, and then reconnect to force the ECU to relearn the engine behavior. Step 1 - break spindle bolts free with breaker bar using 12 point 30 mm socket. Step 2 - jack up car. Step 3 - Remove wheels. Step 4 - remove calipers and rotors. Step 5. First, raise and secure the vehicle, then remove the tire and wheel. The spindle nut is often "staked" or secured with locking tabs.

Im unsure as to why but I can't seem to find a rebuild kit for the C50. I see them for all the old Toyotas pre-1998 but don't see any for Scion.
