Muzzle diameter is .560 (I'm going from memory, but it is definitely less than .600). According to Shilen a magnum contour is .685. I'm fairly certain there is enough material in the stock to make that work. My barrel was mostly free floating at installation, but there were a couple of points that needed sanding.
