Received 1,287 Likes on 866 Posts. I hear a lot of good things about using the C6 shifter in a C5. I personally have the MGW and it is a work of art design, craftsmanship, and functionality. I had tried the Hinson shifter but I found the shifts to be so short that I sometime couldn't tell if I was in gear or not.

The new MGW mounting for a C6 type of side screw **** literally had a press fit to get the **** over the polymer lined shaft (I had to really bear down and twist to get the **** on). May 11, 2011 · Once you have used an MGW for a while, and then drive a C5 with a stock shifter you will be amazed at how spongy feeling the stock one is. I have only used a stock C5, stock C6, Hurst, and the MGW shifters but out of them my preference is the MGW - and by a far margin.

All of the factory shifters are vague, and long throw, so if you're willing to put up with high resistance, I recommend the MGW. To me I didn't like the high stiffness with my MGW. I did the anti-venom mod and it helped a lot.
