this fixed the reving problem. i drove it about 15 miles after that. stopped, got gas and put air in the tires. the SES VDC off and SLIP lights came on shortly after. drove about another 5 miles to my next destination and shut the X down. it took a while to start it up again. every time i start the X it turns for about 5secs before starting.
