Most of the enemies are either demons or undead. Paladins, inquisitors, and rangers are all pretty effective classes that aren't too complex to learn. Alternatively, you can go for a pure melee class like a fighter or barbarian. Go for a good party, and stick with the Angel mythic path as it is kind of the default.

Honestly though, you can use any weapon in WoTR. The best weapons are often found early, you just keep them caught up to your level range with greater magic weapon. I used daggers from chapter 2 through the end of the beta on Woljif and the best dwarven waraxe I found came from a vendor in chapter 2.
