Feb 27, 2015 · Here are a few photos of my some of my seedlings growing in my closet, before and after filling them to the brim with MaxRoids: To get this roidal growth growth: (1) Mix up a solution of 1 tsp MaxRoids / gallon of H2O (RO or distilled) (2) Fill up pitchers that are large enough with your MaxROID solution every other week.

Posted March 13, 2011. Hi, Now that the first sarracenia flower buds are appearing I was thinking of planning some crosses. But I was wondering how to describe any seeds produced. For instance if I pollinate plant A with pollen from plant B and vice versa can I give both sets of seed the same name, ie S. (A x B), or should only the first be S.This clone has pretty extreme phenotypic variation from one year to the next! Never has it produced such colorful spring traps! The plants once grew in a huge field with acres of regular S. leucophyllas, and within the population were a few select white plants. Dying pitchers at the base are a symptom of rhizome and root rot. This can be caused by any number of fungal or bacterial infections, and is often due to overly hot, wet, and stagnant conditions. Heat is a particularly severe problem for cobra lilies (not so much for Sarracenia); their roots have very low tolerance for high temperatures.
For the rest of us, if you grow S. leucophylla, the take home message is to keep that soil moist, but don't let it sit in water for more than 2-3 days in a row.
